There are a number of reasons to have your trash can regularly:
A dirty, stinky trash can can be dangerous for anyone with a compromised immune system and can be harmful to children, older adults, pregnant women and family pets. Dirty trash cans are a perfect breeding ground for disease causing bacteria which multiply at an alarming rate!
Dirty cans are a breeding ground for maggots and tend to attract wasps, flies, rodents, and other pests.
Dirty cans smell terrible and are embarrassing to you, your family and your neighbors.
It is recommended to have garbage cans cleaned at least every quarter to stay on top of the odor and bacteria growth, however, you can have SuperCan do them monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or on-demand.
Of course you can! But just using cold water from the garden hose and a broom to clean your trash and recycle bins is not sufficient to remove or kill the bacteria and diseases that breed in your bins. Cleaning your trash bins yourself can also mean tracking bacteria back into your home, contaminating your lawn and local water supply with the runoff and using significantly more water than is necessary. Our professional, high pressure, hot water system is 15 times more water-efficient than your garden hose and our hydrolic wash bay retains the contaminated water, leaving you with a clean, disinfected garbage or recycling bin without any of the hassle, lingering bacteria or wasted water.
Please avoid placing hot ashes, dirt, rocks, sod, concrete, asphalt, tree limbs or trunks, flammable materials (like oil, gas, or paint), large bulky items (furniture, appliances), or any construction or demolition debris in your container. These items can damage equipment or pose safety risks.
Yes, but please make sure to place all grass clippings, leaves, and similar yard waste in tied garbage bags before placing them in the container. Loose yard waste should not be placed directly into the bin.
No, please do not overfill your container. If garbage spills out, you’ll be responsible for cleaning it up. To help prevent spills, tie garbage bags securely shut before placing them inside.
SuperCan is closed during the winter months (November through May), but we do offer limited service by special request. If you need your cans cleaned during the off-season, feel free to reach out!
Most holidays follow a regular pickup schedule, with service moved to the next day. For example, if your regular service day falls on a Monday holiday, your can will be emptied on Tuesday. Always check the Schedule page for specific updates around each holiday.
If your pickup falls on a holiday, SuperCan will collect your container the following business day. Be sure to place your can out by 7:00 AM on the adjusted pickup day.
